How long does the examination take?

The duration depends on the specific class of the medical examination. Class 1 generally takes longer than Class 2 or LAPL, and FAA examinations vary by class as well.

Wearing comfortable, loose‑fitting clothing is recommended — especially for applicants who require a stress ECG.

For the examination, you must present a valid ID along with a second official document, and — for renewals — your previous medical certificate and pilot license. Without these documents, the examination cannot be performed.

Your appointment is scheduled at the BioMedical Center Speyer and confirmed by email. Afterward, you must complete the FAA online form and send us the FAA confirmation, including the Confirmation Number, within 48 hours.

Cancellations are free of charge up to 48 hours before the appointment.

We recommend comfortable, loose‑fitting clothing, especially for applicants who require a stress ECG. The data you enter in the online form is automatically transmitted to the FAA and is accessible only to your aviation medical examiner.
